Mike Newman is already the World Blind Land Speed Record Holder.
He thought he had hung up his race suit for the last time in 2005 after reaching over 175mph in a BMW M5. A chance meeting in a restaraunt and the illness of his beloved guide dog Ross changed all that.
He has now set himself the target of reaching speeds over 200mph in the Keating TKR Supercar in order to raise awareness and money for the new guide dogs centre in Atherton near Bolton.
Mike is set to break the 200mph speed barrier with the Keating Supercar later in 2009 along with smashing a few other surprising records at the same time. Keep checking back regularly for news and updates on the project.
